Martha-Induced Dilemmas

Do you think that it would be wrong to subscribe to Martha Stewart Living? I've been struggling with this question for several days. Cons are: well, Martha is a criminal and apparently a tyrant. Also she fosters low self-esteem in women because we believe we have to become superwomen simultaneously forcing bulbs and baking Pavlova and decorating our homes with holiday decor.
However pros are: that I actually very much enjoy the magazine when I pick it up and I like all the recipes for Hallowe'en cocktails and this month they even had a feature on painting a room orange! And orange is like, my favourite colour! Also I really want to make pumpkin animals and Martha makes it look so easy! Just picture me, making pumpkin animals and sipping Hallowe'en cocktails. What could be the downside?
Comments
The downside could be somewhat lopsided pumpkin animals. Or did you mean the downside to subscribing? Don't let her criminal past deter you; Martha did wrong, but most of the attention was carefully focused on her to get the spotlight off the boys at Enron and Worldcom and Global Crossing and Time/Warner and... Are you conflicted over your internet connection or watching shows from WB? I thought not.

When you pick up a Martha magazine issue that interests you buy it but do NOT commit to a pricey subscription. You may appreciate the first couple issues but will regret it in the end.

Go on, subscribe. I have had a secret subscription before, and I plan to again. You might want to hide them, though.

Subscribe! I agree with Tony that the attention has been over focused on her and away from the (male and republican) men who also did wrong.
Besides, if you read it more than 5 times a year, subscribing for $18 saves a fortune!
