It's a sad story, maybe made more poignant by the child's bravery. If more first world people cared about what happened to the poor in developing countries, these things wouldn't happen. But as long as we continue to spend more annually on mouthwash than we do on foreign aid, and turn a blind eye to the corrupt practices of (not all, but many) multilnational firms, children like this little boy will continue to suffer and die by the millions.
Nice article, though one has to wonder if the money invested in bringing him to Canada is justified, given his slim chances and his homesickness.
