Hilary Does More Exercise Than She Has Ever Done. Ever.

In a brief burst of energy, celebrity Hilary yesterday decided to accompany Julian on an evening jog to Stanley Park yesterday from her home near Cambie Street. She did not run, but wore rollerblades. Mapquest charts this as an 11 mile round trip in a car (a fact Hilary did not know before her trip). Considering that they took the most roundabout way to get there, travelling through both Gastown and the downtown waterfront (and possibly Marpole), Hilary estimates that it was about 17 times Mapquest's estimated distance. In interviews yesterday Hilary denied witness accounts that she could not rollerblade as fast as Julian runs. She also denied the allegation that Julian pulled her up the uphill parts on the last part of the journey. She did express fears that Vancouver might actually inspire her to be athletic, but most long-time Hilary watchers treat this with a fair amount of scepticism.

I'm not sure about the whole Hilary getting hyper-active (unless she's been watching a lot of Alias again), but if anything, this lends credence to the rumours that the Canadian government has rebuilt Julian better, stronger, faster. Plain old knee surgery, eh? They have the technology...

Yo Mama! Don't give up on your blades or your cardio-vascular fitness. The key is to be consistent. They say that cardio-vascular health is a better indicator of overall fitness than your BMI. Keep working your bod Hilary, soon Julian will be asking for a piggy back ride from you as you hike the grouse grind. Quitting is for sissies! Keep giving it 110%!!

Regarding your comment from post "Homesickness":

"On the way back to where we're staying I was suddenly overwhelmed with the fact that we have actually moved here. We don't know anyone, we don't know how to rent a video or where to get drycleaning done."

If this is truly the case and not hyperbole for prose's sake, I might have some remedies for you. I am a pal of J's from college who spent 18 years in the fair city of Vancouver. You live just minutes away from my two closest friends in town, who, funnily enough, just happen to enjoy fly fishing (in addition to any other kind of fishing), skiing, running around Stanley Park, pretty much anything related to sports or the outdoors, as well as hockey and beer. Even thought it's been 13 years since we went to school together, we still gather back for an annual fishing trip every summer (look up Nootka Island). I'm sending J an email about this to introduce everyone. P
